Today I have a blog post to share with all of you that veers a bit from my normal engagement, wedding and family photo shoots.
Last week Jeanette Merstrand Photography had the privilege and pleasure of going to Geneva, Switzerland to attend the performance of an original ballet “Ophelia” put on by the Piri Ballet school of Nyon. Most of the lead parts were filled by dancers from the Hungarian National Ballet (DART), and the rest of the parts were danced by students of the school- of all ages and skillsets.
Ophelia was a gorgeous, energetic, and colorful piece and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not only was it an absolutely stunning performance, leaving the audience awestruck, but the storyline was also a beautiful thematic representation of what it means to love and forgive.
Although I loved the show, one of my favourite parts was being behind the scenes where the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and anticipation! It was so much fun to see everyone getting ready and preparing for the show! I hope all of you are able to feel some of this excitement looking through the pictures!

The show was performed at Batiment des Forces Motrices, a former hydro power plant that has since been renovated into a gorgeous theatre in the centre of Geneva nestled right on the river.

Last week after the show I also had the chance to conduct a small photoshoot with some of the dancers as well as a photoshoot with Piri, the director of the show and owner of Piri Ballet, so stay tuned for those blog posts coming up!
