I come from an international background- my mom is Danish and my dad is from the U.S. I have lived in Denmark, The U.S., Japan, and Germany, and the question of where I am from is a hard one! I'm currently living with my (German) husband (read more about how we met and fell in love HERE!) on the border between Germany and Denmark with our two cute cats. I like to consider myself a global citizen- a human of the world :)
Throughout my travels, I have always enjoyed hearing other people's stories, connecting with new people, and learning what makes them smile! Now, as a photographer, I get to capture those stories and smiles, and it is a dream come true!
I preserve legacies through my pictures, and strive for my pictures to be genuine and joyful!
I have worked as a teacher in the U.S. and Japan, and absolutely love teaching. Although, I love learning equally as much. I believe we have so much to learn from each other in this world and that people's uniqueness is what makes life interesting (Read more about my philosophy on life HERE!)

I love meeting new people and getting to develop real and authentic relationships with my clients - you! If I expect you all to allow me into your lives, I have to be willing to do the same, so here's a little more about how Jan and I met and fell in love! I can't wait to hear your story too!

Jan and I met at a party in his hometown of Frankfurt, Germany, in July of 2012. I danced the night away, and Jan watched. That summer we went on a roadtrip to Vienna, took a few hikes and spent as much time together as possible before I went back to the U.S. for school in the fall.

After several months of handwritten letters and longs Skype calls, Jan came to visit me in the U.S. We had our first kiss after a hike while standing under a waterfall. For the next few years we navigated a long distance relationship. In August 2015, Jan asked me to marry him, and I said yes!

On May 28th, 2016 we said "I do" to each other in my parent's backyard in Denmark. We were joined only by our very closest family and friends, and together we celebrated with a mix of Danish, American, and German traditions, and a whole lot of love.

We've now been married 4 years, have traveled (a few favorite destinations are Mallorca and Venice) and navigated life together, and have learned a little more about what it means to love each other for better or worse. Our first dance was to "I Won't Give Up" and this continues to be our motto. There is no one else I'd want to do life with!

I believe in the good in other people - and in myself. I believe that we are stronger together than we are apart, and that there is enough room in this world for diversity and varied ways of living.
I believe that there is a greater meaning to life, and that love will always prevail. I am a perfectionist, but I know that there is beauty in imperfection, and I have learned that it is through this understanding that progress finds its way.
Below you can read a few favorite quotes that illustrate how I strive to live my life and shape my beliefs!
“Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we're all in this together.”
Brene Brown

Have you ever looked at a picture and smiled remembering the genuine happiness you felt in the moment it was taken? Or have you ever teared up with sentimentality over looking at a picture of a family member or friend from a time since passed?
I have always been fascinated by the way in which moments are frozen into eternity through the capture of a photo and the way in which memories of significance then can be revisited through those images captured. I believe that the real power of photography lies in its power to preserve and capture precious memories as well as in the ability it has to evoke beautiful emotion.
Take a look through my lens to get a sense of my style, and if you think we would be a good match, I would love to get to know you and would feel honored to help capture some of those precious smiles, emotions, and memories of yours!
