This week I reached 100 subscribers and I am so excited and grateful and simply wanted to say thank you to anyone and everyone who has watched my videos and who has subscribed. It really means a lot. The fact that anyone is even watching my videos or reading my blog-posts is so incredibly motivating to me. Please feel free to leave me comments or questions always, because I truly love getting them. Reading your comments and receiving your “likes” means the world to me and keeps me motivated, but more than that I find it so wonderfully fascinating that behind each one of the views, the likes, the comments on my videos is a person that I have somehow, in some way, if even for just a minute connected with across the world.
I love that. I love that we live in a day and time where it is possible to connect across continents, time zones, languages and cultures. I am able to sit in my little apartment here in Germany and share my thoughts and experiences with people across the world. That is a beautiful concept. When I started Embracing Average about a month ago I started it because I needed motivation and encouragement in my life, and also to hopefully provide that for someone else as well. It is hard (at least for me) to embrace myself and my life fully and whole-heartedly with love and acceptance, but I am still on a journey towards this- I am on a journey towards learning the art of embracing average- and it makes me so happy if someone else out there is able to relate to that.
I have felt myself lately pushing against the urge of perfectionism. I worry sometimes about the videos I make, the opinions I express, the things I say, and the pictures I share and the posts I write and how they will be received. I worry about if my content is good enough, interesting enough, beautiful enough, etc. When all of you watch, like or comment on my videos and blog posts though it makes me feel encouraged and accepted, and to me it also shows me that it is OK to not be perfect. So again, I want to say thank you!
One of my goals here on this blog is to be completely and unapologetically authentic and real. I am still working on getting comfortable in front of the camera, and I hope that over time I’ll feel more and more comfortable opening up, but to kick-start that I would like to share just a few random facts about myself. Please do check out my About Me page here on my blog as well, as I write more about myself and my purpose for Embracing Average, but in addition to that, here are a few random facts about me:
Again, thank you all so much for your support! I really am so grateful and really love hearing from all of you and receiving comments, and getting conversations going, so please don’t hesitate to leave me any comments, questions, or even video requests! I have some upcoming posts and videos for the next month or so that I am really excited about, but I am also open to any suggestions!
I might be all over the place for a while while I try to find my bearing and niche here in the blogging world. I have so many interests, thoughts and experiences that I want to share and feed into that maybe sometimes they may all seem to be a little disconnected, but I suppose this is all part of what it means to embrace average- all of our contradictions and facets. So, let’s embrace average together and find happiness at the top of the bell-curve!
Love,
A Passionate Perfectionist

Hello,
My name is Diane and I came across your YouTube videos as I was searching for Mari Kondos videos on decluttering. Although there are a lot of people who have embraced her philosophy when I listened to yours and how you talked about what is the reason for making this lifestyle change, a light went off. I am on a journey to simply my life and add more spirituality to it. I’ve just started meditating to Wayne Dyer’s morning meditations and am starting to see the impact of positive meditation. Please keep on doing what you’re doing and congratulations on your accomplishments.
Light,
Diane
Hi Diane!
Thank you so much for your support and kind words! Your comment absolutely made my day, and I am so grateful that you took the time to write me. Thank you! It makes me incredibly grateful that there are others out there also wanting to embark on minimalist, decluttering, and journeys towards greater mindfulness and physical and mental health through simplifying, and it truly encourages me knowing that there is a community of others striving for those things as well. I also recently started meditating (about 6 months ago now) and have been feeling the benefits in my life as well. I am hoping to get around to posting a video about it soon 🙂 I will have to check out Wayne Dyer because I have never heard of him before, and I would be interested to learn more.
Again, thank you so much for your message, it truly touched my heart and encouraged me!
Love,
Jeanette
