Ellen and Michael were walking hand-in-hand alongside the harbour in the quaint little town of Ribe. Cobblestone under their feet, the wind about them and the sun peeking out behind the clouds every once in a while. Looking at each other, laughing with each other and enjoying the togetherness.
When asked about what he loves most about Ellen, one of the things Michael mentioned is how she manages to bring the spirit and joy of Christmas with her throughout the entire year! For a couple like this who even has matching Christmas sweaters it was only fitting that the proposal would take place during the holidays! Last December after a long day exploring London in all of its Christmas glory (I can only imagine how magical the atmosphere in London must have been during this time of year), Michael asked Ellen to marry him, and she said yes! Ellen had no idea that this question was coming, but Michael had been planning the moment for a long time; He had even had custom lego figures made – of course in matching sweaters – as a small engagement gift to Ellen!
Fast-forwarding to now, walking through the streets of Ribe with Ellen and Michael felt a little like a fairytale. Ribe is Denmark’s oldest city, but more than that it is also the place where Ellen and Michael met for the first time nine years ago while studying in this quaint little town. I always love when I have the chance to capture a couple at a place that is meaningful to them and their relationship! It was also while getting to capture these two that I fully understood what Michael meant about what it means to bring the spirit of Christmas with one throughout the year!
This is a couple who obviously has so much love both for each other as well as the world and people around them! I loved getting to capture their love for each other and getting to hang out with them and laugh with them!
