"TO FIND THE BEST IN OTHERS. TO LEAVE THE WORLD A BIT BETTER . . . THIS IS TO HAVE SUCCEEDED"
The sun was high in the sky, shining down warmth on the beautiful rolling hills and open fields of the Danish countryside. In the midst of this idyllic scene, Ellen and Michael’s wedding was unfolding.
Their wedding day was cozy and intimate. They were married in a quaint church on top of a small hill. A church filled with so much family history!
Ellen’s great grandparents met when her great-grandfather was hired to help build the church tower. During the time he was under hire, he obtained lodging at a nearby farmhouse. This was the farmhouse where Ellen’s grandmother lived – and the same farmhouse where Ellen and Michael held their intimate wedding celebration. The church grounds now serve as the resting place for Ellen’s great-grandparents. Now, Ellen and Michael with their resounding “yes” are starting yet another cycle of love in the place that, in many ways, started it all.
After the ceremony at the church, the celebration continued in the family backyard of Ellen’s sister. It was every bit as relaxed, intimate, and cozy as the scene might suggest! Enjoy looking through this gallery of images from an intimate backyard Danish countryside wedding!
