Behind the Scenes 2018

Hi Friends!
With the start of the new year, I thought it would be fun to share just a few behind the scenes pictures from some of my photography ventures in 2018. I don’t have BTS pictures from every shot I have done, because I don’t always have my husband assisting- he is the one who usually will take time to snap a few pictures of the process- and sometimes I just don’t think about taking a behind-the-scenes snap until after I get home! However, I absolutely love seeing behind-the-scenes footage, pictures, and sneak-peeks from other people, so I hope all of you enjoy this jumbled arrangement of snaps from the past year behind the camera!

- I have to start out this post with a shoutout to my husband, Jan! He patiently lets me test the lighting in our shooting locations on him. I have countless pictures of him like this from testing out lighting! He’s my lighting test subject . . .

- Sometimes taking pictures takes me to the edge

- And sometimes it takes me to the ground. Always doing what I need to do to capture the shot!

- Sometimes a break from smiling is just so so needed!

- And I love when my clients are themselves, because it leads to smiles and laughs like this!

- Dance breaks are also acceptable!

- I met so many amazing couples this year!

- This year, I spent a lot of time editing, curating, blogging, etc. in front of this desk, but I had the best company!

- Please excuse my terrible posture- anyone want to get me a posture corrector? 😉

- I loved getting to shoot in the fall colors this year!

- Sometimes I wonder if my clients think I am crazy for putting them in the places I do! Go stand in marshland? Sure! Take engagement pictures next to a gas station? Why not! I love how it isn’t always the most obvious spots that yield the most beautiful results!

- It’s always fun to see the difference between an automatic shot and a manual one!
