A Love Letter.

To the shirts that made me feel beautiful
The bright colours that taught me that
I can be bold- if I want to.

To the first pieces bought
With my own paycheck
To the shoes that carried me through high school
And then through university
Later to trod the grounds of a dozen different countries.
The shoes that travelled with me
Through all my ups and downs
That are now worn through
Holy soles.

Also to the shoes I thought would make me feel pretty,
but that really just made my feet hurt.

To the T-shirt that reminds me of Japan
The sweater that reminds me of the Danish beach
And summer nights with the grandparents.
The sweatshirt that pulls me back in time
To California sunsets and warm summer days
One of the best road trips I ever went on.

To the dress that accompanied me through
rainy season and summer in Japan.
The shirt that I wore on my 21st birthday.

To the dress that kept me classy,
The slippers that kept me cozy,
The socks that kept me warm,
and the clothes that made me smile;
