In Part I to Simin and Lars’ engagement anniversary pictures I wrote a bit about our session together, but in this post I want to tell you all a little more about Simin and Lars!
Simin and Lars met at a New Year’s Eve party in Copenhagen, Denmark. They stayed in touch after meeting and this Danish-German duo soon went on their first date to Neuschwanstein castle in Germany and already on their first date Lars hinted that if they were to ever get married, this is where he would propose. He is a man of his word, because when he did get on one knee to ask Simin to marry him, it was in the romantic setting around the Neuschwanstein castle! Such a fairytale! Spoiler alert: She said yes! 😉
If you all have been following my blog you might know that my husband, Jan, and I were in a long-distance relationship before getting married, and that long-distance love has a very special place in my heart. Well, initially after meeting and after they started dating they were in a long-distance relationship spanning Denmark to Germany, and later after getting engaged Simin and Lars navigated another long-distance season in their relationship this time Germany to the U.S. One of my FAVORITE things that Simin said to describe their relationship now is that she feels home with Lars- no matter where she is, if he is by her side, she is home. Isn’t that the sweetest? I think that is part of what true love is, finding a home in one another!
During our session together I really got the feeling that the essence of finding home in one another is something that Simin and Lars really truly live. I loved how comfortable they were during our session and how many genuine laughs they were able to share with each other, and I was able to share with them! I hope you all get a feeling of the happiness and comfort that this session truly was!
Aw such a sweet story! It’s always so nice when we can connect with our clients on such a unique level, like long distance relationships. And the photos are absolutely stunning!
