The setting sun was lighting up the beach in a way that bathed the shoreline in a magical and golden glow. As Katharina and Daniel stood there on the white sandy beach together with the wind blowing about them, embracing and looking into each other’s eyes, the lighthouse in the distance turned on its guiding lights and they couldn’t help but smile! The setting sun. The white sand. The dunes aglow. The lighthouse. The sound of the waves. Everything about this session was absolutely perfect!

Katharina and Daniel met for the first time in 2012 through mutual friends, and last year Daniel finally asked for her hand in marriage. Their proposal was intimate and personal and so incredibly sweet. One September evening Katharina came home to a present waiting for her on the couch- a book filled with all the reasons why Daniel loves her. They went through it together and at the end Daniel took Katharina’s hands in his, and with a touch of nervousness recited part of the Pride and Prejudice proposal (her favorite book), and asked Katharina to marry him. She said yes!

Katharina and Daniel are such an adventurous couple who loves to travel and explore, with a perfectly balanced love for the home-life! They had their very first vacation together on Sylt in Northern Germany, and this is where we decided to have their session! I love that they chose a location that was so meaningful to them and honestly, I could not have thought of a better location for these two. There truly is something magical about Sylt and it was the perfect location to complement the sweet, adventurous, beautiful love that these two share for each other!
